Agreed.

It's Scotland, Slobodan. Moody and grey is what they do up there.

Excellent work Hans  :)

Also well done for being able to motivate your workshop people enough, to get them up to that higher level viewpoint and setup well before dawn, which is no mean feat in and of itself, as I know myself from doing the same thing in the past. As I would say that to photograph from this particular vantage point, it's about an hour or so of solid hiking, in the dark and also up quite a steep incline and with the latter part of this path, through what are often muddy conditions and a slippery terrain.

So again, well done and a great result that was really worth all the effort I think.  ;)

I hope your group were suitably impressed with both you and the view?

Dave

Thanks for the many comments :)

And Dave, you know it, of course. It is sometimes really a struggle to get up there before twilight starts in the dark. Especially as it happens quite often when it has rained a lot in the previous days. I usually try to time it with at least a day of dry weather if possible. It can be dangerous and falling is bad. So far no real injuries, but some have got hurt by falling. At a great morning it is really worth it. And that particular morning it was. There is always a special uplifted spirit among the group members when it has been a good morning that I always find hugely satisfying. Not that I can do anything to the weather, but still it is fantastic when it happens and how it is received. Then a one hour hike is forgotten :) The photo below is from the same morning.

Btw. on one of my other workshops in the Dolomites at Tre Cime we hike up to 2500 meters altitude in the morning. So a very early start, but this one is not slippery although in June there is still snow sometimes.

Some more drool-worthy photos as alway, Hans!

Can't wait until spring for my next journey across the pond!

Thanks Larry :)

Here is another shot from the same morning after the sun was up and much wider angle. This is 11mm where the first one was 16mm.
