In Camera Crop on Import?
« on: November 21, 2018, 11:04:15 am »

I am just looking at Capture One (to switch from Lightroom) now Fuji GFX files are supported; so far very promising :-)

However, when importing I can't seem to get C1 to respect the in-camera crop (for example 16x9; 1x1; etc); everything seems to come in 4x3.

Is this possible with C1 and I am missing enabling something?

thanks

Phil

Although I am not familiar with the Fuji GFX, in-camera crop features are in general not supported in Capture One. They just take the full raw file.

Does Lr respect the in-camera crop in the raw file? Or is that crop only applied to processed JPEG files?

Yes LR respects the crop and applies the crop on import of the RAW file; but doesn't phyiscally crop the image, just applies a crop adjustment that can be adjusted if required in the Develop Module.

I think it treats a JPEG from raw+JPEG as a sidecar.
