Canon iPF6100 printhead care: long vacation?
« on: November 15, 2018, 06:30:44 pm »

For the purposes of maintaining my Canon iPF6100 printheads, I normally run a cheap test print every 6 days.

However, if I have to go on a vacation for 10 days, am I better off with:

1) Leaving the printer off, and running a cleaning cycle after I return, or...

2) Leaving the printer on, and letting it do... something?  (I'm under the impression that it does some self-maintenance when the machine is left on for extended periods, but I'm not certain.)

Any insight/experience would be greatly appreciated.

Let it go to sleep, don't turn off. It will wake up periodically and shake the carts and check humidity and temperature. We would leave ours in this state for up to a month at a time and it would always just start to print. when we returned.
