I removed the picture.
I find those jokes tasteless. I knew those children.
And yes, they were poor.

The comment should be removed, not your beautiful and good portrait of those kids!!

Sorry if you were offended, but you missed the point. To avoid others making the same mistake I will remove my comment.
No Sir.
You didn't offend ME.
These children are not anoymous. I gave even the name and address with permission of their parents.
You crossed some limits.
That's all.

So nobody is offended. Good. No offence was intended, and others understood my point.

Rabanito, you have the ability to remove all your comments that quote others. That way no offending comment would stay (although they were not meant to be personal, but a sarcastic reference to recent political debates). Sorry for touching the nerve.

That was an attempt to circumvent the ban on political discussions ;)

Didn't work, old chap.

The natural order of things.

This image, although semi-formal, nevertheless shows an excellent eye for composition and light; the colors, shapes and elements are very well balanced. Most of the work you post is likewise good. Altogether, you have some of the best body of socially and culturally related work I have seen on any site. We can't go back and pretend to take photographs like the greats of the past. Those were different times, so we have to find our own way and voice. I think you have done that in a way that is sensitive to the people and culture of the places you visit. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks, John, very much appreciated.

We happened upon the group of highly excitable kids who demanded our attention, demanded to be photographed and demanded that we take their direction. The strange thing is that despite the formal look all the poses were of their own making, quick fire, one after another, after another, after another...bless 'em, they were little shining stars. The only downside, it was so frenetic that I missed more poses than I caught.

India was everything we'd hoped for and more: counting the days until our return.

I think I can always spot one of Keith's photos from the gorgeous colors! They don't ever feel overdone, but they are stunning.
In this shot, too.

Thanks, Eric.

As an illustrator I was rarely called upon to work in B&W and as a painter it wouldn't even have crossed my mind. Colour has been central to my entire working life, it is a joy that I can't imagine being without.

As an aside, what attracted me with this particular pose was that at first sight it looked rather like a proposal, but on closer inspection there's the hint that the little imp was making a fist.

Keith,

Absolutely! Since art school, the interaction of light and color has been my subject...whatever I have or will paint. It's the magic that gets me going and sustains my life.
