Photoshop CC 2019 & Canon Print Plug-In
« on: October 19, 2018, 05:02:00 am »

Hi

I cannot find any info regarding this issue - it is not the end of the world as I am still able to print through 2018.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Thanks

William

I believe that the Canon plug in doesn't support yet CC 2019.

Thanks! Canon do seem to be a bit slow when it comes to these things...

It is a usual issue with PS and LR updates that these Canon plugins stop working. Wait for the update, if not released yet

Yes but I remembered how to overcome it.
Download and install the latest version of Print Studio Pro.  It will attempt to install in Lightroom and Photoshop but fail.  For Windows (and I expect Mac is similar) run Canon Utilities\Print Studio Pro Plug-In install,  it will compain but give you the oportunity to click next anyway.  This will put up a window with a list of applications and a button to click to select where you want to install the plug-in.
For Lightroom I put it in C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules  and for photoshop in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Plug-ins

Hope this helps

Thanks Dave! I'll give it a try and let you know....

(This morning):

No luck! I will wait for Canon to catch up and print out of 2018...

I installed the new CC 2019 and copied the Plug-ins files to folder in CC 2019
They work perfectly.

For photoshop you have to tick photoshop in the first screen then browse to the plug-ins folder I mentioned (if it does not already exist create it) then click next.  If that is what you did you may have a permission problem - try running the Print studio pro plug-in install application as administrator.

I second that. Have installed plugins both for LR and PS 2019 and they're working flawlessly.
I have used the usual PDF provided by the Canon to identify the needed folders where the plugins should be dropped by the cannon plugin installation software.
I installed the new CC 2019 and copied the Plug-ins files to folder in CC 2019
They work perfectly.

Thanks Abdo! That did the trick! I copied the entire plugin folder from 2018 - not just the "plug-in".

Thanks to everyone else too!

Since I did not have PS CC 2018 installed there was no plug-in folder to copy to PS CC 2019.  But I discovered that the install of PSP does create the necessary files. They are CNPSPP01.8li and CNPSPP02.8bf and there are two versions of them, one for 32 bit systems and the other for 64 bit. The locations are C:/Program Files/Canon/Print Studio Pro and C:/Program Files/Canon/Print Studio Pro/x64.  Then you have to create a folder in C:/ Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC 2019/Plug-ins called PSP and copy those two files to that folder.  Restart PS and voila, there it is, under Automate, right where it belongs.
