I can't change my displayed name

I wish to show my full name instead of my username, however, the software disagrees. I go to "Profile" -> "Account Settings", I change my name, enter my password and click "Change profile". I get this error:

The following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:
The password you entered was not correct.

The password I entered is most certainly correct.

What next?
