The exposure raw image when imported to LR
« on: September 25, 2018, 01:56:00 am »

I would like to ask someone to explain or what I am doing wrong.

My problem is when I import raw file from sd card it is much darker than the image in the monitor of my camera(Sony A7R3)after it is taken. I know it is jpeg image. Then in the LR it will be corrected when I click “auto” at quick develope at the right side of the library module.

Thank you for your help.

Check what your importing presets/default settings are for your camera.

Thank you. But I am embarrassed to say I do not know where to check the import settings. In the library module then file - import profile and preset?

Also, check your camera to see if jpg enhancing functions such as what Sony calls D-Range Optimizer (DRO) are enabled. These cause the camera to make changes in the embedded jpg that are not made to the Raw image data. LR will do its own (different) default processing and carry on from there, so it is not unusual for the display on the camera-back and in LR to be quite different.

Thank you much. Yes I did set up DRO this time before I went photo shooting. I will change it back.
Thank you for your advice.
