Adorama has dropped the price of the Z3200 down to $2499! I'm seriously considering, but don't have an urgent need for it, so maybe I can put up with the delay's and hassels of shipping from them?

When I die, one for my wife and each of my 3 children.   ::)

This is killing me. I am very tempted.

My 7900 has been remarkably reliable for the last 9 years, but I always wonder how much borrowed time I'm living on. And I could really use 44".

Come on Dave you can do it.
I bought mine.
Bought it more to fool around with the spectro.
I think I will set it up for mostly black and white.

Just pulled the trigger on mine from Adorama. $2499.99 is incredible price. You can't buy a 4000 patch automated profiling machine for that!

I complained to adorama customer service, promised me delivery in another week and credited me $200 to reflect the current price. Still nearly 1 month to get a printer delivered.

Hi Mark

Thanks so much for posting the discount prices my z 3200 needed a new mantiance tank the belt jsut started going and it has needed to be restatreted to print every 24 hours so I pulled the plug and got the 24 inch ,model. 1595. never had the psotscipt model before either so this will be interesting. One question and I will put this in the main area as well. My old inks should I keep my old model turned on or can I take them ourt of the printer wrap them in something? Obviously I would like to get rid of the rpinter but do not want to thrwo out all that ink
thanks again David

I just pulled the tripper at $2,499.00.  Best price I have found in Canada over the last two years is nearly $CAN5000.00  The printer will finally replace my moribund z3100 (which I was never able to restart after my house move a couple of years ago, despite a couple of expensive service calls)

Interestingly, I was not browsing LL for a few days so I missed Mark's original post. I tripped across the deal myself on a search for electric coil binding machines, of all things.

I live just across the border from Niagara Falls in Canada and always use one of the various US post box services scattered around the border on the US side for the ship-to address  Most don't even require a pre-purchased box.  Their handling fee for this will be about $15.00.  (Small packages are $5.00) Sure beats the hassle of dealing with cross-border mail delay and related courier and customs fees.  USAddress on Witmer Road in Niagara Falls is highly recommended:  www.usaddressinc.com

This printer will do a good job of filling the box on the Dodge Ram on the way back across the bridge!

So... I got cold feet. It came down to this: Although I could use a 44" printer, it is a bit on the margin for my situation. I can mat and frame up to 28x34, or for a pano, say 24x40. My limit is mat board. Bigger than 32x40 is difficult to deal with given my setup. That means I switch to some other presentation, which right now my preference is face mount to acrylic. I am light years away from being able to do that in-house so I farm that out to WhiteWall. I've done 10' prints that have come out quite good. So until either 1) I find someone local who can face mount one of my prints, 2) I get rid of my furry best friends and purchase all the face mount equipment, or 3) My 9-year old 7900 decides to stop being the rose among thorns and clog, my need to print larger in-house isn't practical.

Dave:
They have the 24" version for $1600!

It's  amazing you've gotten 9 years out of your Epson!

BTW, my 44" Z3200 arrived this morning.  Got it unpacked, waiting for some help to turn printer over to attach the base, and then turn it upright. ;-)

Congrats on getting the Z3200ps John - about time man, :-)

That is absolutely the lowest price for the Z3200ps 24" I've ever seen.  Amazing.

Happy printing!

Just received mine today. Now comes the fun task of assembly and finding someone to help get it on the stand.
I guess I did not read the fine print. I thought 130 ml carts were what came with the printer only to find out they are little baby starter carts.
To add the Pk and GE are 130ml. Why is that?
10 years as an Epson man I am so used to those 700ml carts although they now give you 110ml starters.
Oh well the full set is on the way.

Dan:
You can assemble the base by your self, but notice that the wheeled feet are not symetrical. Make sure they both face the same way. (not noted in assembly directions) Yes it does take two people to attach the base to the printer mostly to turn the printer upside down, and then to raise the whole thing upright after attaching base.

Yes, the starter carts were a disappointment, but I'm sure they will get you going. The  Lt Gray is the first to go, I buy that in the 300 ml size and change out the chipped cap. Also in my experience the Yellow is next to go. If you use the GE a lot, I'm sure that will also be used up quickly. (I don't use it very often)

Happy printing!
