Crumbling Cliffs at sunset
« on: September 18, 2018, 08:36:49 am »

The Crumbling Cliffs at Valahnukamol in Iceland are a wonderful source of inspiration, and I love to explore them to find cracks with shapes complementing or mirroring the sea stacks and the clouds. Taken at sunset during a Workshop One-on-One in Iceland in February 2018 with my Leica SL, a Voigtlander 15mm and my Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.

Thank you for viewing, best regards

Hi, Vieri:

While I do love the image as it is - contrasting the rugged foreground with soft background, I wonder if it will also make an interesting square image if you only take the top part.

I like the dark rocks vs the very light waters. Also, the diverse shapes of the rock formations are superb.

Thank you very much indeed Eric! :)

Hello again Niranjan, interesting note - that would have been a completely different image, with a completely different feel to it; a valid one as well, but - IMHO - one that would have lost a lot of "drama" together with loosing the contrast between the hard, dark rocks in the FG and the soft sea and sky in the BG... ;)

Beautiful.

Thank you very much Paulo, glad you liked it! :)

Thank you very much indeed Francois, I am glad you enjoyed the various contrasts here: soft sea and sky / hard rocks, dark rocks / light sea and sky... :)

Best regards,

Vieri
