Iridient S transformer-what do you think?
« on: September 13, 2018, 11:50:06 am »

There was a thread about this last May; when I started to add to it, the website said it had not been updated in over 120 days and I might want to consider a new thread, so here it is.

When I used Fuji, I was quite pleased with the results from Iridient, both the developer and the X transformer. Sony uses a Bayer pattern so likely will not have the same issues as Fuji but I continue to wonder about the S transformer. I have been using LR CC Classic since I got my Sony A7RIII almost a year ago and have been generally happy with my work. Andrew Rodney, whom I highly respect, just said, "Iridient rocks!" regarding the S transformer but did not have any detail about why.

If there are S transformer users out there, I'd appreciate hearing what you do and do not like about the product. It's fairly priced and I'll certainly get it if it seems to offer any advantages.

Thanks for any responses.

Eric

S-Transformer is in beta.  Take a look at the cameras supported.

there are still some bugs, so I am waiting for then to be fixed before buying ... I mostly need it to more conveniently replace camera make and model in a generated DNG file (that can be done with a lot of other tools starting with exiftool of course - just I prefer to have that in transformer's UI) and that is where the bug I found lays ... reported and ack'd by Brian weeks ago - still no new version
