Z3200 Calibration/Print Problem
« on: September 03, 2018, 09:46:12 pm »

I’m getting lines in some color patches on my calibration prints.  As a result, the printer aborts the calibration.  I’ve cleaned the print heads and reseated the inks.  Hasn’t helped.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ok, so I printed several/different 16X22 prints. They all came out fine.  Then I tried to calibrate the paper again and it worked fine. All seems to be well again.

Yep - that's the Z Series for you, on again, off again, then working fine.

I recommend you do an advance paper calibration.  Those lines in your diagnostic chart are zebra stripes and APC should fix it.

Could be there was something obscuring the color sensor, and your cleaning could have moved it out of the way.  The ESP can be a tricky thing sometimes.

Glad you got it back working.

Thanks Mark, I’ll do an advanced calibration. Any easy way to clean the color sensor without tearing into the printer.

if i see those lines i would clean the printheads;

blue seems to be heaving a little problem...
then i would print a diagnostic image. ( to see if all the heads print fine)
if that is OK i would do the calibration again....

I have scanned a calibration outcome and made a target from it to print.
In that way i am sure to print all colours and clean the heads through printing.
