Yes, it is a kind of construction, but also it evokes and looks like a flame thrower juggling and fire. So here is my fire.

Well Slobodan, I was going to place this image in 'abstracts', but there is only one way to compete with fire like that - add more fire!

That is really fine, Eric. I don't think I have seen that one before. It certainly does look like flames rising ever higher. But it also reminds me of dark rolling thunderhead clouds, and the first part of Beethoven's Pastoral symphony where everything builds up and threatens, but then quickly subsides. Just wonderful.

Thanks John.
It's an old one from wet darkroom days that I just ran across again recently. I thought it fit the current link of the chain.
Perhaps now I should retitle it "Beethoven."

Crackling shot!

What's the strange streak of lightning shaped like a letter 'W' up near the top of the hill all about?

Thanks. The local University, Western Colorado University put it up there long ago. It's made of white rocks. The light it on fire for homecoming.
I ski it on good snow years.

There was unusual weather condition on this day. The sky turned yellow-orange and this lasted for about three hours. Out on the lake there was a storm brewing and rainbow emerged that lasted about two hours. Never seen anything like it before or since.

When we get that colour up here in the UK it's usually due to Saharan dust whipped up into the atmosphere and carried northwards.

I didn't know it went that far north; here, it mainly manifests itself as rained mud on the cars and terrace furniture.

My worst flying experience - once up there, which is not the same as my worst flying experience before we were up there - was one March when we flew from England to Lanzarote to shoot the Glayva Liqueur calendar: we ran into a sandstorm that lasted for days after arrival. My fear was based on my first pro photography job when I worked as a trainee in an aero-engine manufacturing company. We did a lot of photography work with broken turbine blades and damaged flame tubes.

No wonder I enjoyed driving a lot more than flying.

The cause of the orange colour in this sky is more easily identified. Taken at dawn the morning after we landed at Alicante airport ten years ago almost to the day.
