A survivor to be sure. In the summer and fall, thousands come to this spot and climb all over the few trees that inhabit this small area of hilly ruts and denuded farmland. It is now protected.

JR

Here from the same area, are small bushes. But they are less trodden.

Two great images… I especially like the second one with a few small bare branches above the snow.

Thanks gentlemen. A more subtle take led by the milkweed. As Freeman Patterson used to say, nothing grows in isolation, plants grow in communities.

A smaller, more intimate landscape, so to speak.

I like this one too… It has some colors (subtle, just right).
I would say that this image is an excellent companion to the previous winter shots.

Somewhat minimalist, but quite excellent.

If you guys get cold looking at these, I will ask CosctCo to send you guys some hand and feet warmers.

I thought the distribution of reds was good enough to unify the chaotic elements.

After looking at those, I think I need six of each (hand warmers and foot warmers.)
Brrrr!!!

I love the second one… Not sure why but I immediately thought of fly amanita mushrooms (reversed colors, of course).
The whole set is really pleasing to be fair.
Well done, John.

PS: keep the hand warmers for Eric, here we only have a very mild winter (just one night with freezing temperatures so far…)  ;)

What did Jessica Rabbit (Mae West) say in Roger Rabbit, I'm not bad, I'm just drawn this way.

Red is such a show off. Always waving about -look what I can do.

Thanks Arlen and Eric.

Eric, is that what that is - a flag? I thought it was just red and white waving against blue and green. Silly me.
