What to do with retired Z3100
« on: August 09, 2018, 06:17:15 pm »

I recently bought and then refurbished a Z3200 24"to replace my Z3100 24".  The Z3100 has had its belt replaced and is great shape. No luck seliing it on Craigslist (asking $500/obo)

So do I:
a)keep trying to sell it
b)strip it for parts that are reusable on the Z3200 and then take the carcas it to the landfill
c) or ???

thanks
Jim

Where are you located?  I'd take it if you were closer :)

Have you considered eBay?  You can specify "Local Pickup" for shipping, but you'd reach a wider audience that might be willing to make a road trip or arrange for shipping themselves...

Time once again for me to try to give away my HP Z3100. It needs some work which I’m not willing to do. I’m not willing to ship it. Free to anyone who who’ll remove it from my house. I wasn’t lucky enough to find a school or such nearby before but perhaps this time will be the charm.

If you're in Australia, I could use it...

For those of you interested. I am in Fort Collins Colorado.  I am literally just down the the road from the large HP plant. The plant houses the traveling trade group whose job it is to go to trade shows and promote the Z series.  I have a friend who works there and occasionally hooks me up with half spent rolls of paper that would normally be tossed. 8)
I thought about Ebay.  I guess I will give it a second look.

Hi Sportmaster.
Nothing is wrong with it.  It has had very low use.  It is up to date on firmware and works fine with Windows 10.  I just got such an amazing deal on a z3200 (basically free!) I couldn't pass it up.

PM me and I will be more than happy to have you come up and give it a "test drive"
