Light is a bit flat but even in those less than ideal conditions, Stromboli is the "prefect" volcano...

Thanks for commenting, Francois. The light was indeed hazy, and I was on a small boat bobbing about on the sea with nothing longer than the 18-55 on my Fuji X-T2.
Here is the original embedded jpeg from the raf. You can see that rather a lot of processing was involved.

I've been in Stromboli quite a few times… From a boat, photography is a real challenge (haze, sea conditions, wind, etc…).
