Am I correct in assuming the ball head is in fact different from the one in the illustration paperwork that shows in the image?  Looks like two different models?

Hi Rand,

The instruction booklet is what came with the ball head, which does look different from the illustration used on the booklet.  There is an addendum sheet inside which notes updated instructions for the "V2 and GV2" ball heads.  I have the original receipt for the ball head which lists the ball head as an Acratech V2 ball head for $329.95.
