I doubt PK or MK has anything to do with it. The lower volume usage may be the key factor.

I would agree.  So perhaps there is some logic in the machine that if it isn't  used as much as it should be it will force a power clean at intervals. As i mentioned, never happened on the p9000 in 2.5 years now.

You are fortunate, but probably making much more intensive use of those printers than I am.
