Yes I agree, the colours in the first shot are OK, but by turning it into a B/W and adding a little more PP to it, as you can with a B/W and much, much more than you can ever do with colour, and which seems to have lifted it a little bit more.
I now need to reshoot this scene properly and when the light is much better than merely pleasant I think, which probably means November when the sun will be setting on the upper right compositional third of this frame
..and that is exactly why we all need to keep going back to the same locations over and over again, if we really want to get that OMG money shot
