Need advice on HP Latex printer - 315 print and cut solution

I have been using a Canon ipf8400 and quite happy with it. Now I am moving into a larger place and plan to add one printer, for more capacity, redundancy and product diversity. After some research, I am pretty much set on HP 315 print and cut solution. Quite a big investment and hope it's worthy.

Appreciate it if anyone can give some advices on the below:

1)   HP 315 seems to be a newly launched machine, anyone had any experience to share – the printer and the cutter?

2)   With 8400, I just use photoshop with Canon’s plugin, and qimage to print on canvas, and never used any RIP. With HP, it comes with HP FlexiPrint and Cut RIP. Again, anyone to share some experience?

3)   It requires a professional installation. Does this cost extra? I hope not. The machines already cost $15,000!

4)   Any vendor/dealer recommended?

Curious as to why a latex printer?  Difference of output between the 2 is pretty substantial.  I haven't seen that particular printer but I've never seen output from a latex printer considered a substitute for pigment printer output.

Certainly there are some cases where latex printing is a great solution, and I can see perhaps product diversity, but not sure how redundancy fits in since I i'm not sure you can really switch work between the two.

guess I"m not sure what type of work you are printing.  It's not that the output looks terrible or anything, can look decent.  Just not considered a fine art printer like the 8400.

Thanks Wayne for your comments. I am mainly printing home decor on canvas which doesn't seem to need fine art quality. I do plan to use latex to do this. And if/when I do need fine art quality, I still have the 8400.
