Capture One 11.1 Video Review
« on: April 19, 2018, 09:57:17 am »

Hi!
I've just posted Capture One 11.1 Video Overview - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3FFhR5UDoY
In the video, I'm showing how the new Normalize tool works, how to apply styles to layers from the Styles tool and other features of Capture One 11.1.

If you prefer to read a text, I have an article about Capture One 11.1 as well - http://alexonraw.com/capture-one-11-1/ :)

Good, fast review, that updated me, after I updated C1.
;-)
And thanks you really also have written a text, not only a video! Maybe I'm not the only one who prefers reading and is a lot faster that way.

Useful video.  Before install, is there still a skin tone tool somewhere, or do we now have to construct a new workflow using the new new normalize tool?

Yes. No more skin-wb. Only normalize.

Hi,

Normalize allows to check or uncheck Exposure or Whitebalance. With only Whitebalance selected it's supposed to function identically to the former Skin tone tool.

Cheers,
Bart

Alex,

Well done.

You mentioned updated versions of your excellent film profiles. I already own the v 1.1 you released months ago. Is there something new coming from you?

Thank you, Bud!

In the video, I'm talking about updated versions of our Film Styles which are compatible with layers.

I can't give more details right now, but we're working on the new styles as well :)

Except without the skin tone presets I gather.  (I'm in the middle of a processing run and don't want to upgrade until it's finished.)  I can see that it's a more powerful and flexible version of the Skin tool, but those whose workflow was based on the presets will miss them.

Hi,

Correct, there are no predefined skin-tones to select from anymore, but it very easy to create your own list by selecting from other images, or creating your own tones from scratch either in RGB or in HSB.

I own all current versions of Alex's Capture One Film Styles. I use the for almost every image. They make it so easy to get a "right look" for color and b&w images.

Highly recommended.
