River Derwent September last year
« on: March 26, 2018, 04:23:13 pm »

Cumbria in the North of England last year. I have finally bought a monitor that shows green properly or at least pleasantly so have been looking at older foliage shots. Taken in the early morning while standing in the middle of the river with water about 1/2 inch below the tops of my wellingtons. I got out dry by the way. Ken

Well that IS pleasant greens. Very nice. Green is difficult, I find. Pretty impressed how you treated it.

Thanks for taking the time to comment in such a positive way. This area of NW England is almost a temparate rainforest and is very green and very wet. Ken

Thanks for taking the time to comment in such a positive way. This area of NW England is almost a temperate rainforest and is very green and very wet. Ken

Including Manchester, Ken. With the emphasis on the rain!

Lovely shot.

Jeremy I worked in Greenock in the West of Scotland approx twice Manchester's rainfall. Here in Cumbria we have had more than a foot of rain in a day. Ken

If we're talking rain, Ken's photo is 2 miles from the wettest spot in England. The rain gauge holds both records - most in one day, most annually.
