classic cc sync

Quick question: is it possible to sync a smart collection in Classic with Lightroom CC, or does that work only for ordinary collections? I fear the latter.

Why not? Probably because while it would be possible, it would be tricky. For example, the contents of smart collections can change quite quickly, so the system would have to cope with images continually being synced and unsynced. One should also think about the experience in LrMobile - should smart collections work there too, and would you have access to images which no longer met the criteria. Again can be done, but complicated. I use SCs a lot but have learnt to live without them syncing.

Jeffrey Friedl recently released a plugin workaround which might interest you - see http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/smart-collection-sync

Thanks for that link, John. The plugin looks rather clever.
