Drone camera opinions
« on: March 01, 2018, 03:16:02 am »

Hello all.

I am looking into investing in a drone and have pretty much decided on a DJI Inspire 2 however, I’m after some oppinions on camera choice from those who may have experience.

The two cameras I’m looking at are the Zenmuse X5s and X7 and my simple question is will I see a noticeable improvement spending the £2000 extra (with lens) on the X7 for both stills snd 4K motion capture? Or is the X5s all the camera I’ll ever need?

The dedicated DL mount lenses for the X7 looks like a great feature but I can’t find any subjective opinions on these cameras as the majority of content seems sponsored.

It'll depend a lot on what you're shooting and if you need the higher resolution.  The X7 does 6k capture with a S35 sensor, with higher bit depth.

Are you strictly using the footage from the drone or are you matching/grading with other cameras?  Yes, you can upgrade the camera later, but are you shooting footage that should be captured with best available gear?
