Empty Quarter - revisited
« on: January 29, 2018, 05:17:19 am »

Spent some time over the weekend going through some +/- 10 year old images that I did in the Empty Quarter of Oman, when I was living in that country. I used to visit that beautiful desert as part of astronomy and star gazing trips. Some of my best photo memories come from that area, in spite of the sand getting everywhere.

A mix of slide film, and some Canon G series shots, if I remember correctly.

Kind regards.

Nice images, Paulo, despite them coming from ~10-year old technology. It is easy to see why they allow you to happily reminisce.

A fine set. I especially like the B&W one: clouds vs. sand.

I agree entirely. It's not often one sees such a superb demonstration of the ability of B&W to convey a sense of place.

The last one (B&W) is also my favorite but the whole set in very nice.

I like all of them, and the b/w conversion is IMHO very good.  But the composition and the chromatic contrasts in the 1 are something special.
All the best,
Sandro
