Cache and tile size settings for many layers and big files in Photoshop

I do lots of editing using luminosity masks so my PSD files often are over 2gb. I have started to routinely save to TIF which allows up to 4 GB and can be seen in LR. Thus my files are large and I usually have many layers: always over 10 and often 20.Things seem to be running slowly so I have been experimenting with different preference settings for tile and cache size. Any suggestions for large files (2-4 GB) and many layers (10-20)?
