I hope they would change their mind...
The clamp is not that bad, BTW. I feel it is a bit overengineered and it should have a bit more clamping force, but I am still using it on a "fluidless fluid head".

It's also very difficult to operate in gloves when it's freezing, due to the need to manipulate the thin metal rod inside the lever, and the plastic lever itself is a weak point mechanically.
