Very nice Veri
Thank you Neil, glad you liked it!
The boats are the icing on the cake, on a very good photo.
Thank you very much Paulo, yes I think the boats give the image a little extra - it took me quite a wait to get them to move into position...!
What Paulo said!!! Just beautiful!!

Thank you very much Kevin!
Yes the boats add a man-made element without detracting anything from this majestic landscape.
Thank you very much Francois. glad you enjoyed the little boats!
Very fine, as always.
Eric
Thank you very much Eric, much appreciated!
Very impressive!
Thank you very much indeed!
When I and most people first look at photos of reflections they get a hit, a bit like big sad doggy eyes is a cheap flea market painting.
So the first thing I do when I see one is cut off the reflection and look at the quality of the main image, and similarly I look at the reflection, cutting off the main image. What I find is that the quality of the image is rarely very good, and it is just the repetition aspect fuelling some kind of recognition in our brain making us think the image is actually good.
Having said all that, I did all that with this photo and both the top and bottom images are very strong and could stand on their own. Duplicating the image with the reflection enhances the picture. But for me it is the two boats that set off the picture.
This is a fine picture.
Hello Tim,
thank you for your message. As you, I am normally wary about reflections, and reluctant to shoot / post them myself... I completely agree with you about your analysis: if an image is not strong enough, just reflecting it might please the eye, as you said "fuelling some kind of recognition in our brain making us think the image is actually good". I am glad that you found this image successful
Best regards,
Vieri
