H.264 V H.265
« on: January 09, 2018, 08:10:46 am »

Hi all, I came across some video files that were encoded with 265 and they will not play through my OPPO Blu ray player. I contacted the company and they explained it was a technical and perhaps a licensing issue with the CODEC.

I then converted them to H.264 and though they work fine, the average file size went from 250 MB to 1.3 GB is this normal?

 Thanks!!

Probably quite normal since H265 is a much higher efficiency codec designed for large high bitrate video
