Meltdown, Spectre and Mac OS 10.12.6
« on: January 06, 2018, 01:43:37 pm »

I have been reluctant to change to High Sierra on my 2013 Mac Pro and mid 2014 MBP both because of general reluctance to be Apple's beta tester and remarks by Lloyd Chambers. My usual approach is to do whatever change (I no longer use the term "upgrade" because they're not always better) on my MBP laptop, test EVERYTHING and then, maybe, do the Mac Pro.

Apple says it has "fixed" 10.13.2 but no comment about 10.12.6. I suspect there are a lot of folks also reluctant to do High Sierra for whatever reason. Does anyone know if 10.12.6 is at risk and also, if the NEC Spectraview software for monitors has been upgraded for 10.13.2?

Thanks for any help on this.

Eric

SpectraView runs fine, and if you worry about security, you want to update the OS!

Thanks Andrew, you are helpful as always. Can I assume you're using High Sierra?
