Random numbers given on import
« on: January 05, 2018, 06:24:22 pm »

Since upgrading to C1-11 I have experienced a weird phenomenon - I rename the images on import, using date-description-counter. I never had any issues with that before, but now the counter does not represent the order the shots were acquired and the images are imported and numbered in a seemingly random order. This behaviour persists for different cameras and different memory cards. Anyone any idea what's going going wrong?

(As a workaround I now rename on import to date-time-description-countet and then batch rename, which seems to reset the counter to its correct behaviour)

I have exactly the same problem. I use “DChew_YYMMDD_XXXX”

In v10 the 4-digit counter matched the order in which the images were taken. Now it seems to randomly pull images off the card and assign the counter as they are imported.

To me it feels like the error is in the order in which it pulls images from the card.

Sounds like a bug, make sure you report it on the Phase One website by opening a support ticket.  They will either a. show you a workaround, b. show you a setting you may have missed, c. record it as a bug to be fixed in an upcoming release.

Just an update - I reported this to PhaseOne who say it is a known bug that they are working to fix.  We shall see ...

In my experience if they acknowledge it as a bug you can bank on them fixing it.  Sometimes they won't acknowledge a bug but then one or two dot releases later the problem magically is fixed :)
