If you're planning to print photos, why are you even considering the Z2600? It isn't a photo printer - more like a commercial graphics printer.

If you want to print photos using an HP printer, you need the Z3200.

In The Netherlands, not mine, makes some some noise at starting up and gives some errors. Could be the belt, make an inquiry.

Out of those two, the P6000 will do a better job of photos. But you'll really miss the extra light black of the P7000, or the six extra inks of the Z3200.

Personally, I'd just save a bit more money and get a real photo printer that will actually do the job properly, rather than spend a still-substantial sum now and get one that will likely disappoint when you try to push it into doing something it wasn't designed to do.

Yes, I'll see P7000 or Z3200, but lease it. Retailer offers some testing both machines with prints of my work,
so I'll be able to judge.
I'm fed up with buying machines that are constantly going down out of warranty, at expense.

Is this apply also to SC-P800? Isn't a SC-P800 a real photo printer? Because the SC-P800 and SC-P6000 share the same inkset. I ask this because SC-P800 is generally regarded as excellent but SC-P6000 is not. Why?

Expectations.

If you're spending many thousands of dollars on a printer - and probably hundreds of dollars just shipping it - you expect the output to be somewhat better than that of a lower-tier printer, not just the same thing (but seven inches wider). The P800 does well for a printer of its size, but its output isn't comparable to, say, a P7000, Pro-4000 or Z3200. The difference in gamut isn't significant for many photos (except those with highly-saturated greens, reds and oranges), but the loss of one of the blacks hurts.

It's just like with cameras - if you spend $4k on a camera body, you expect it to perform better than a $1k body, not just give you the same thing (but more of it).

The blacks between HD inkset (SC-P800/6000/8000) and HDX inkset (SC-P5000/7000/9000) are the same. The difference is an extra Green and Orange.

Oops, I got mixed up with the P10000/P20000. These have an extra black/grey ink (but no orange/green).

Regardless, my photos printed on P7000/P9000/P10000/P20000 prints always seem to 'pop' in a way that P800/P6000 prints don't. I don't know whether it's just my photos, since they're either super-saturated (thus benefiting from increased gamut) or in high-contrast black-and-white (thus benefiting from the extra grey), or whether it's a universal thing. It's not noticeable unless you put two prints side-by-side, but, when you do, there is a difference. See attached photos for a few recent examples of what I'm talking about - either super-saturated, or black-and-white with areas of smoothly-graduated tones.

I am aware of the differences between Epson HD and HDX inksets. Mark Segal demonstrated it very well in his Canon PRO-1000 and Epson P800 review where it compared it with Epson 4900. I am sure that the difference  would be observable in your two color pictures with their saturated greens and oranges. But in every other case including your b/w pictures (in theory at least) there will be no difference. Maybe I am missing something. Anyway thanks for your reply.

Is the SCP6000 superior to the HP.
Some say new Epson blacks are better.
