I use EasyHDR3 and find it excellent in not over cooking the images with a range of adjustments that allow a great many results to be achieved, even turning them all down to zero if needed then applying a small amount of an adjustment.
I think of it less an HDR program these days more like having universal layers.
And the price is modest.
It allows batch processing and can also be used as a stand alone program.
