CNN "Photos of the year"
« on: December 31, 2017, 03:32:45 pm »

A very impressive collection of images. But some tricky navigation. Seems there are 3 sections (general, politics, sports), accessed via the three, small, unlabled circles/dots.

Thanks for the link.

There is a more straight forward version here.

I was very interested in the image: October 30 – A hiker walks in the U-shaped troughs of The Wave near Page, Arizona (still catching up on interesting photo sites).

Cheers,

I've tried to get into the Wave twice, once as a drop-in where they laughed at me. Once requesting a reservation 1 month in advance. Again, no go.

Be warned, many have died there. Google "death wave arizona".

A similar story here in Australia. Access to Kalbarrri, WA is good, the environment however can be deadly.

Is there a version that does not have the auto slide show?  Or is there a way to pause it so I can take my time looking at these photographs.

You must have missed the link I posted.

I used that link but on my computer it still automatically advances through the photographs.  A little too quickly for my liking.

But from what I can see, those are some pretty good photographs.

The initial image is a slideshow but if you scroll down you will get individual images with text.
