So here's the scoop. Before Christmas, I finally entered the smartphone era (only a landline and an iPad previously) with an iPhone 8 Plus as the camera seems to have improved significantly, especially with the two lens-camera - 28mm and 56mm - and there is a raw file (dng) option with the excellent CameraPro app.
