Last Light (Snowdonia, North Wales, UK)
« on: December 25, 2017, 04:52:30 am »

Taken at the end of the same day from the "First Light" post...

Another example of waiting and hoping!  Arriving at Llyn Dywarchen, there was heavy cloud, strong winds and it looked like it would pour with rain any minute – not promising!  Just as sunset approached the clouds started to break, nearly revealing the summit of Snowdon and letting the warm light of the setting sun flood the flanks of the mountains for a few brief minutes.  Including the boathouse in the image helps to provide a sense of the scale to the scene.

Hanging on to the side of the hill to get this composition was the hardest part of getting the image - not easy in the wind :-)
