The path
« on: December 20, 2017, 05:58:23 am »

The old castle ruin in Rocca Calascio in Abruzzo. One of my favorite spots in that area and shot on a day back in 2014 when the weather was dramatic.

It was shot with the Nikon D800E and the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 lens.

Composition, lighting, the clouds, processing -- everything works together to capture that ominous mood.
Wonderful!

Great castle ruins with the perfect sky and location... One can not hope for a better depiction of an old castle.
Bravo, Hans!

Thanks very much Eric and Francois. Once more one of these cases where the mood is better expressed in b&w, so the colours don't get in the way.

the "V" in the clouds pointing down to the castle is the icing in the cake.
