Thanks again everyone
This is a true story, but when I was at this location, I was taking shots of the foreground reeds in the small lochan at Cill Chriosd, which is a favourite spot of mine and I decided to change lenses to zoom into the detail and as I did so, I happened to look up from my concentration and see this scene, so fired off a shot or two at it and then got back to concentrating on the reeds in the lochan. Later back at the computer I reviewed the images and worked on a few of them, before deciding I didn't particularly like any of them, so to save space I deleted the entire folder and emptied the recycle bin and formatted all my memory cards used that day. Then some months later, I was doodling around on the computer and found this worked version of this file in another folder, in which I must have accidentally saved it, as PS had defaulted to a previously used folder. As I looked at this image, I realised that I must have been in a bad mood or something to have not liked it. Anyway, this is now the only version I have of this shot of those dramatic skies over Blaven, as all the original raw files got thrown out with the rest of that days shooting
The moral of this tale I suppose, is try not to evaluate the worth of your work and delete it in a fit of pique, when you are not in a good mood and always keep looking around you when out shooting and don't get so absorbed in your chosen composition, that you end up look at the world through tunnel vision and missing what else is going on around you
