Sunset in Poland
« on: November 29, 2017, 05:56:43 am »

Hi, I wanted to show you this image and get some feedback please.
I took this last autumn in Poland.

Canon 5D3, 35mm f1.4
ƒ/13.0  35.0mm 1/640  ISO2000

Curious what you think.

It is a pastoral scene, processed to a natural feel, so, well caprtured.

Something else caught my attention:  high shutter speed and small aperture, resulting in ISO 2000. The scene could have easily been shot at ISO 100-200.

Hi Slobodan,

many thanks. Forgot to say... it was quite windy and I wanted to freeze the movement of the crops - otherwise it would lost all those details. That's when I started increasing the shutter speed more and more. But probably too much indeed.... thanks again.

Nice view! I like it. May I ask: is the sky the actual color, more or less, or is it your processing? This warm-cold gradient is very nice, that's why I ask.

Thanks for posting the nice image. Did you have a tripod?  If so you might try a lower ISO and shutter speed in addition to this one.  With digital you can try lots of different approaches without worrying about wasting film!

It was indeed a very impressive colourful sky ... but yes, I have increased that in post processing quite a bit. I remember even adding a gradient of like -1stop over the sky :-) Too much cheating for your taste?

No, not at all, I was referring to the colors rather than exposure. I thought you might have partially toned the sky. Increasing is of course ok.
