A day hiking Big Panther Creek in Georgia
« on: November 26, 2017, 02:52:02 pm »

This is one of the more popular hikes in northern Georgia, as is evidenced by the 100 people you will meet on the trail.  The trail to the main falls from the western end is about 3.5 miles or so.  A lot of it is pretty easy, there are some rough sections near the end where care needs to be taken, and there is quite a bit of rock and root hopping for the first mile in, and the last mile to the falls.  Hope you enjoy, comments welcome.

Pretty. The first is a scene not dissimilar to some I posted recently of a series of falls in the Yorkshire Dales, but you've done a better job than I did.

Thank you Jeremy, it is a pretty neat place. I looked for your post you mentioned but can't seem to locate it, could you give me a link I would like to take a look?   I'm using my phone that probably adds to my difficulty.

Good stuff. I like the exposure time for the water speed. Just enough texture, especially in the last one.

A lovely location worth visiting in all seasons, it seems.

Had you thought about B&W for any? It might help distill the image down to the tones and textures that seem to be working so well.

Thank you Terry.  Yes, I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I will generally go back through and look at black and white possibilities at some point.  Unless and image screams black and white (and nothing else) at me I will generally process color then re-visit later.  There are certainly a few that I took that day that will get black and white as well.
