The seven day B&W challenge
« on: November 13, 2017, 11:05:57 pm »

Facebook has this little chain mail letter where you post one B&W photo a day for seven days about your life without any humans and no explanation.

I'm putting Eric Myrvaagnes up for the challenge.

I hope this wll work.

Cheers,

I'll give it a try, as long as each photo doesn't have to be taken on the day it's posted. I'm much too slow for that.
Here's one I converted from a Kodachrome slide. It's B&W because I couldn't get the colors right enough to satisfy my wife (who has normal color vision, unlike me.)

I got challenged (again!) by at least two people just as I was heading out of town...my solution was to post seven images at once, plus one for interest. I don't always have time each day. Another time I me the challenge with two per day for a week. Thinking I should prepare a folder full of images for the next challenge or two...

Canadian Rockies? Some of those lakes have a colour that's hard to believe or tweak to get right. And it all depends on the light at that time, of course. Anyway, this is a very successful B&W conversion IMO.

Correct. Lake O'Hara from Opabin Plateau in 1987.
So, now I challenge you, JNB to show your daily seven!   :)

Didn't I already do that? I have a busy week ahead, and so this time I'll use Eric's interpretation that images taken in the past are valid. I'm going to start with a subject that's completely out of my usual wheelhouse.

Made me think of Watson's Mick Jagger.

The Jagger/leopard facial blend is iconic, but I really like the shot with the leopard in the back seat of the car.

My day 2 shot, and another one that isn't really typical of my photography. Gordie MacKeeman at the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival. Gordie (and his Rhythm Boys) always put on a good show.

I love it, JNB! And Lunenburg as well.
Reminder: as Tom B said, "You have to name a LuLa member to keep the up the project."

Here's my Day 3 offering: Garage doors in San Francisco, many years ago.

Day 3: Never knew garage doors could look so... ominous! Great shot.

Reminder: I guess I'd first have to find someone watching this thread before I could challenge them (aside from Rob, for whom good B&W seems no challenge at all). Perhaps the "But is it Art? section is not the most appropriate/frequented area for the challenge?

Day 3 for me. Portraiture is another genre that I do very infrequently.

Oh, Crap. I think that's silly, but OK, I'll post substitutes. And challenge Slobodan for wandering in here.  ;)

There is also a classic. I can't remember who shot it, but it's a colour image - probably Kodachrome - of a row of garage doors with the tail of a Coupe de Ville sticking out of one, with the overhead garage door resting on it... lovely colours.

It would have to be a set up. Please?
