I have an Epson 7900 that I am replacing because the yellow channel has blown (won't unclog despite repeated efforts - I suspect it has dead piezo units in that one channel). All 9 remaining channels print flawlessly. The best use for this would be as a  Piezography machine - most of the Piezography inskets are 7 channels or less , and Cone offers software to map out clogged or blown channels. With a 7 channel Piezography (everything except the new Piezography Pro) inkset, there are still two more potential spare channels. It will also work with Piezography Pro K8 (but NOT K10 - that requires all channels).

Another potential use is as a parts donor (or head recipient) printer - everything except the yellow channel and the print catcher is perfect. If you have a cheap source of a 7900/9900 head, and can put it in yourself, it's a cheap way to a fully working color 7900. I also have much more than half full cartridges (many expired) of everything except MK (nearly empty) and LLK (~30%) in the printer.

This is a big, heavy machine - pick up only in Lexington, MA - 15 miles outside of Boston.
