Legends of the mountain
« on: October 26, 2017, 10:24:22 pm »

There are places in the internal and external world that elevate the human spirit to a higher place. They go beyond mere superficial beauty, touching the heart in unexpected ways. For me, the Lake Blanche trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah is such a place. I find it to be the hardest trail I've ever encountered, it pushes me to my limits. But I will tell you, like anything on this plane of existence worth pursuing, the end result is well worth the effort. On a cold, beautiful Sunday in October I arrived to find a mountain in full autumn cloak with touches of winter at the crown. I don't know what magic permeates the air in this holy place but I do accept it with all my heart...legends of the mountain.

Beautiful! I've skied there but not been at that time of year. I'll have to give it a go.

This must be the last show of colors, just before the snow!
Lovely.
