Thanks everybody. Mr. Paulino is indeed a fine character and person. We talked for about 15 minutes, while returning from the field to my car. I was actually in a hurry because I was supposed to pick up my wife who was arriving at 8 pm in the bus station in Odemira. And I was being eaten alive by mosquitoes, somehow they appeared at sunset. I only had the chance to take this photo of him, using my Sony 90 macro.
This is one of the reasons I love to shoot and walk in the area, there are many nearly-abandoned farms, tended by old folks, since the younger generation has long departed for better life; or so they hope. Today, there is a resurgence, with the municipalities very active in promoting activities all year round, making the most of the richness of the region: nature, landscape, quiet, sustainable tourism in rural areas that are very close to a wonderful coastline.
Here is a B&W rendition, but I prefer the colour one, the light was really soft and nice.
