A view.
« on: September 21, 2017, 12:22:02 pm »

One of the better places around. It's a pano, but actually I could have made it with one shot, also, I think. Still wonder whether it's too dark, cannot decide. This way the clouds come out nice. Only lifting the shadows "feels" not naturally and it's getting flat. So any comments welcome.

I like the tonal spread. If there's anything worth seeing in the darkest areas I'd try bringing it up via dodging rather than an overall "darks"/shadows lift.

I agree with the others, the tonal range look good.  You could do a little dodging in the shadow areas if you want more brightness there.

Thank you everybody!
There's only little to see in the darker parts, maybe I can work out the few brighter leaves there slightly. Thanks again for looking, I find it hard sometimes to judge something after I stared at a picture for a longer time.

The sky tones are wonderful, bright and lively, but the heavily shadowed trees bring the whole photo down a bit. As suggested, slightly raising those deep shadows might just give the lift that you identified.

I reworked it, some small changes. A hint of tint and a bit more contrast in the mid-to-dark-tones, to get some more structure in the grass. Also the framing is a bit wider. Actually don't know, whether it's "better" or just different. Will put it aside for a while and have a fresh look on it in some days ...

Thanks again for looking and your thoughts!

I like the wider framing. Tonally I'm fine with either one.
