Thanks everyone. I like the view and am still working on the best viewpoint prior to returning in about a month when the view should be slightly more sidelit. I have also planned to return in mid winter when, with a bit of luck, I can get some snow. The chances of me getting nice clouds over the hills and a decent sunset with or without the snow are slim but I will keep trying. The attached shot shows more foreground. I am not sure about the two stones in the immediate foreground but finding a viewpoint that excludes them may prove difficult. This is a 6 shot panorama Nikon 16-35 @17mm with the camera perfectly level. Previous visits have taught me that pointing the camera downwards whether making a pano or single shot produces very odd distortion in the farmhouse about a third of the way in from the right hand edge even a level 16mm single shot produces the stretched edge look that I don't mind until a man made object is near the edge. I could shoot at 16mm and raise the camera higher to give slightly more foreground above the 2 rocks and before the land drops away. Anyone any thoughts.
