Here we go! From SE Michigan ~20 minutes ago. Clear skies despite partly/mostly cloudy forecasts.

Sunspots re-emerging as the moon heads for the exit.

Great viewing here for most of the eclipse, though it's now quite cloudy.

We had a bit of rain and clouds throughout the eclipse, but there was enough blue sky for this timelapse composite. Here in Maryland, we had approx. 80% totality, and really wonderful shadows, i.e, leaves acted like hundreds of pinhole cameras, at maximum coverage. It was fun.

I used an old manual Pentax A* 300/4 lens on a similarly old Vivitar 2x TC for the sun shot. A crop body (K-3) helped with reach.

The shadows were probably more interesting and made a unique shot a lot more feasible.

Great shadow pic, Matt!

I've attached a cloud-heavy pic from near the end of my sequence. Had a blast today, letting neighbors and one of the guys who takes care of my greenery look at the partially eclipsed sun via both camera LCD and solar glasses. Lotsa smiles.  :D

Now that I've got a good solar rig and pic-taking method put together, think I'll do more such observation.

Thanks!
I had to get the obligatory solar disc shot and let people (friends) look through my camera but once it peaked I was happy to pursue the other shots on my own!  8)

Thanks Dave, I like the clouds. I wouldn't have minded a few here.
Good shot too. It's fun to share the geekery with others!

That is an awesome photo. Well done!

Here are my plain vanilla standard eclipse shots from Oregon. We had about two minutes of totality and I spent most of it being awe struck. The moment when we entered the shadow was the most dramatic - after gradually getting darker for thirty minutes, the light suddenly dimmed over a two second period and we were plunged into semi-darkness, much darker than I was expecting and almost as dark as middle of the night with a full moon. It was instantly colder and... spooky, mind-bending, magical. I don't know what else to say. Very other-worldy. It ended way too soon.

We drove up into Mt. Hood National Forest the night before - no traffic. Approaching from the north on National Forest road 46 we found very few people north of Breitenbush, at center of totality. Easily found a beautiful campsite off of a side road - no one else around, just deer stomping around all night. Returned the following morning after totality - no traffic. Despite the dire predictions about traffic, we could have easily driven up into the mountains the morning of the eclipse. A very non-stressful, relaxing and awe-inspiring day which I will never forget.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their images.

Here's a cloudy partial eclipse from Maine.  This is near maximum coverage for the area.
