20D: Cleaning Focussing Screen/Mirror
« on: August 23, 2006, 03:49:25 pm »

Hi,

Thanks to you kind folks, I have sensor cleaning down pat, but I've recently noticed a couple of translucent blotches when I look through the viewfinder.  They appear near a couple of the focus points and I'm curious about hwo to get them off.

I'm not sure if the marks on the mirror or focussing screen, but either way, I'm worried about cleaning them and about their effect on autofocus and metering -- could be flukey, but I have noticed some odd over exposure and less than stellar focus of late.

Can anyone detail how to clean these two parts, how fragile they are, and what products/solutions exist (I have the visible dust brush and solutions).

Thanks!
