Lots of fixer-uppers around where I live in rural Nova Scotia, too. It's a bit heartbreaking with some, because they were once beautiful homes. But the TLC$ required outstrips the return, and some insurance companies won't touch anything over 100 years old (my house is 109). The picture below is (fortunately) NOT my house. It was once MUCH grander, however, and is currently for sale in Shelburne, NS, which some of you may remember from The Book of Negroes as the landing place for many Black Loyalists. Of course most of the the Black Loyalists ended up in shanties in Birchtown.

Your fine example may have television, but this house has free patio furniture.  ;)
