Which two?
« on: June 20, 2017, 12:18:49 pm »

The local photography club (of which I am a member) is having a 35th-anniversary exhibit this fall at the local museum. Each member has been invited to show two framed images. I've narrowed my selection to a few pairs of images, mostly predicated on how they are somewhat different from what other members typically shoot. If any of these pairs seems to strike your fancy more than the others, please feel free to let me know.

Best regards,

John.

My first choice would be the ice pair, and second choice would be the tree forms. I've shot a lot of ice and a lot of trees, but I think you did especially nicely with the ice ones.

Then again, my tastes are somewhat peculiar, so the great hoi polloi would probably go for the fourth pair, which doesn't challenge the intellect as much as the other three pairs.

#1, #2, or #3 are all very good but I'd go for #1 because of the coloured image & because their subject matter is more unusual.

Would like to see  BW of 'The Apple Sauce Maker'.

Yes put me down for #1.

To my mind, these two shots are what the art of photography and the art of seeing is all about.

Select the applesauce maker and combine it with the web-of-deceit of the first set.

The applesauce maker is a very traditional theme with traditional style (which btw could have used something to diffuse the light slightly). By combining it with something more abstract, you kind of entice the traditionalists to take perhaps a bit more time to appreciate the second image.

Image set 2 but my first pick I'd rather the apples with another strong image!
