I get this "The illustration contains an incomplete or garbled object description" error message when I try to open an Adobe illustrator .ai format file. The file was created in the same version I run and I could open it before with no trouble. Does anyone know what this message is or why it is occurring?

One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the (ai contents, if any, of the) corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way.
